What is a Word Image Extractor?

A Word image extractor opens DOCX files and pulls out every embedded image — photos, diagrams, charts, and logos. Our tool parses the DOCX archive directly in your browser, extracting images from the word/media folder at their original resolution.

Why use our Word extractor?

Manually renaming .docx to .zip and digging through folders is tedious and error-prone. Our tool does it instantly in your browser — no file uploads, no server processing, and no quality loss. Your documents stay completely private.

Frequently asked questions

What image formats can be extracted from Word documents?
Our tool extracts all embedded image formats including JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF. Images are extracted in their original format and quality as stored inside the DOCX file.
Is there a file size limit?
No server-side limit since processing happens entirely in your browser. The limit depends on your device's available memory. Most devices handle DOCX files of any typical size without issues.
Are my Word files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers or any third party. The document never leaves your device.
Can it extract EMF or WMF vector images?
Currently we extract raster images (JPEG, PNG, etc.) embedded in DOCX files. EMF and WMF vector graphics are not extracted as they require special conversion.
Does it work with scanned documents?
If the scanned image is embedded in the DOCX as a regular image, yes — it will be extracted. For extracting text from scanned images, use our OCR tool instead.
